As we dicussed in the previous article, Backgammon is a casino game of ability and good luck. The goal is to move your chips carefully around the board to your inner board and at the same time your opponent shifts their checkers toward their home board in the opposite direction. With competing player checkers heading in opposing directions there is going to be conflict and the requirement for particular tactics at particular instances. Here are the 2 final Backgammon strategies to finish off your game.

The Priming Game Plan

If the purpose of the blocking strategy is to slow down the opponent to shift their pieces, the Priming Game tactic is to completely stop any movement of the opponent by creating a prime - ideally 6 points in a row. The opponent's pieces will either get hit, or result a damaged position if she at all attempts to escape the wall. The trap of the prime can be setup anyplace between point two and point 11 in your board. Once you've successfully assembled the prime to stop the movement of your opponent, the opponent does not even get to roll the dice, and you shift your chips and toss the dice again. You'll win the game for sure.

The Back Game Technique

The objectives of the Back Game tactic and the Blocking Game strategy are similar - to hinder your competitor's positions in hope to improve your chances of succeeding, however the Back Game technique relies on alternate tactics to achieve that. The Back Game tactic is frequently employed when you are far behind your opponent. To participate in Backgammon with this strategy, you need to hold 2 or more points in table, and to hit a blot (a single checker) late in the game. This technique is more difficult than others to play in Backgammon because it requires careful movement of your pieces and how the chips are moved is partially the outcome of the dice toss.
