As we have dicussed in the previous article, Backgammon is a game of talent and pure luck. The aim is to move your checkers safely around the game board to your inside board while at the same time your opposition shifts their pieces toward their inner board in the opposite direction. With opposing player chips heading in opposite directions there is bound to be conflict and the requirement for specific techniques at specific instances. Here are the last 2 Backgammon plans to finish off your game.

The Priming Game Plan

If the purpose of the blocking strategy is to hamper the opponents ability to shift his pieces, the Priming Game tactic is to absolutely stop any activity of the opposing player by building a prime - ideally 6 points in a row. The opponent's pieces will either get hit, or result a battered position if he ever tries to leave the wall. The trap of the prime can be built anyplace between point 2 and point eleven in your board. Once you have successfully built the prime to prevent the activity of the opponent, your opponent doesn't even get to toss the dice, that means you shift your chips and toss the dice yet again. You'll be a winner for sure.

The Back Game Technique

The goals of the Back Game plan and the Blocking Game strategy are similar - to harm your opponent's positions in hope to improve your chances of succeeding, but the Back Game strategy utilizes alternate tactics to achieve that. The Back Game strategy is generally used when you are far behind your opponent. To participate in Backgammon with this technique, you have to hold 2 or more points in table, and to hit a blot (a single checker) late in the game. This strategy is more complex than others to use in Backgammon because it needs careful movement of your chips and how the checkers are moved is partially the outcome of the dice toss.
