As we have dicussed in the previous article, Backgammon is a casino game of talent and pure luck. The goal is to move your chips carefully around the board to your home board while at the same time your opposition moves their chips toward their inside board in the opposite direction. With opposing player pieces heading in opposite directions there is bound to be conflict and the requirement for specific tactics at specific times. Here are the last 2 Backgammon tactics to finish off your game.

The Priming Game Strategy

If the purpose of the blocking plan is to slow down the opponent to move her checkers, the Priming Game plan is to absolutely barricade any movement of the opposing player by building a prime - ideally 6 points in a row. The competitor's pieces will either get hit, or end up in a battered position if he/she at all tries to leave the wall. The trap of the prime can be established anywhere between point 2 and point eleven in your half of the board. Once you've successfully built the prime to prevent the movement of your opponent, the opponent does not even get to toss the dice, and you move your pieces and toss the dice again. You'll be a winner for sure.

The Back Game Technique

The aims of the Back Game tactic and the Blocking Game strategy are similar - to hinder your competitor's positions hoping to improve your chances of succeeding, however the Back Game technique utilizes alternate tactics to achieve that. The Back Game technique is commonly utilized when you are far behind your opponent. To participate in Backgammon with this technique, you have to control 2 or more points in table, and to hit a blot (a single piece) late in the game. This technique is more complex than others to employ in Backgammon seeing as it requires careful movement of your chips and how the checkers are relocated is partially the outcome of the dice roll.
