As we have dicussed in the last article, Backgammon is a casino game of ability and good luck. The aim is to shift your chips safely around the game board to your inner board and at the same time your opposing player moves their checkers toward their home board in the opposing direction. With opposing player checkers shifting in opposing directions there is going to be conflict and the requirement for particular techniques at particular times. Here are the two final Backgammon plans to finish off your game.

The Priming Game Tactic

If the aim of the blocking tactic is to slow down the opponent to move their checkers, the Priming Game plan is to absolutely barricade any movement of the opposing player by constructing a prime - ideally 6 points in a row. The opponent's chips will either get bumped, or result a bad position if she at all attempts to leave the wall. The ambush of the prime can be setup anyplace between point two and point eleven in your game board. Once you have successfully constructed the prime to block the movement of the competitor, your competitor does not even get to toss the dice, and you move your pieces and roll the dice again. You will win the game for sure.

The Back Game Plan

The aims of the Back Game technique and the Blocking Game strategy are very similar - to hurt your opponent's positions in hope to better your chances of succeeding, but the Back Game plan uses alternate techniques to achieve that. The Back Game plan is commonly used when you're far behind your competitor. To participate in Backgammon with this technique, you have to hold 2 or more points in table, and to hit a blot (a single piece) late in the game. This technique is more difficult than others to use in Backgammon because it needs careful movement of your pieces and how the chips are relocated is partially the result of the dice toss.
