The Running Game Tactic

The goal of the Running Game technique is to entice all your chips into your inside board and get them off as quick as you can. This technique concentrates on the pace of advancing your pieces with little or no time spent to hit or stop your competitor's chips. The best scenario to use this technique is when you think you might be able to shift your own chips a lot faster than the opponent does: when 1) you have a fewer pieces on the game board; 2) all your pieces have past your competitor's checkers; or 3) the opposing player does not employ the hitting or blocking strategy.

The Blocking Game Technique

The primary aim of the blocking plan, by the title, is to block your opponent's chips, temporarily, while not worrying about moving your chips rapidly. After you have established the blockage for the competitor's movement with a few chips, you can move your other chips rapidly off the board. The player really should also have a clear plan when to extract and move the pieces that you used for blocking. The game becomes intriguing when the competitor utilizes the same blocking strategy.
