As we dicussed in the last article, Backgammon is a casino game of skill and pure luck. The aim is to shift your chips carefully around the board to your inside board and at the same time your opposing player shifts their chips toward their inside board in the opposing direction. With opposing player checkers shifting in opposite directions there is bound to be conflict and the need for specific strategies at specific instances. Here are the last 2 Backgammon techniques to complete your game.

The Priming Game Tactic

If the purpose of the blocking plan is to hamper the opponents ability to shift his chips, the Priming Game strategy is to absolutely stop any movement of the opponent by assembling a prime - ideally 6 points in a row. The opponent's pieces will either get hit, or end up in a battered position if he/she ever tries to leave the wall. The ambush of the prime can be setup anywhere between point 2 and point 11 in your game board. As soon as you have successfully constructed the prime to prevent the activity of the opponent, the opponent doesn't even get a chance to roll the dice, that means you move your checkers and roll the dice yet again. You will win the game for sure.

The Back Game Plan

The goals of the Back Game technique and the Blocking Game strategy are similar - to hurt your competitor's positions in hope to better your odds of winning, however the Back Game plan uses alternate tactics to do that. The Back Game plan is commonly used when you are far behind your opponent. To participate in Backgammon with this strategy, you have to control two or more points in table, and to hit a blot (a single piece) late in the game. This plan is more challenging than others to use in Backgammon seeing as it needs careful movement of your checkers and how the checkers are relocated is partially the result of the dice roll.
