As we dicussed in the last article, Backgammon is a casino game of ability and pure luck. The aim is to shift your checkers carefully around the board to your home board while at the same time your opposition shifts their pieces toward their inner board in the opposing direction. With opposing player pieces heading in opposing directions there is bound to be conflict and the requirement for particular strategies at specific times. Here are the two final Backgammon tactics to finish off your game.

The Priming Game Plan

If the purpose of the blocking tactic is to hamper the opponents ability to shift their chips, the Priming Game tactic is to completely barricade any movement of the opposing player by building a prime - ideally 6 points in a row. The competitor's pieces will either get hit, or result a damaged position if he/she ever tries to leave the wall. The ambush of the prime can be setup anywhere between point 2 and point 11 in your board. After you've successfully assembled the prime to stop the activity of your opponent, your competitor does not even get to toss the dice, and you move your chips and toss the dice yet again. You'll be a winner for sure.

The Back Game Technique

The objectives of the Back Game strategy and the Blocking Game tactic are very similar - to harm your opponent's positions hoping to improve your chances of winning, but the Back Game tactic uses different techniques to achieve that. The Back Game technique is frequently used when you are far behind your competitor. To play Backgammon with this plan, you need to hold two or more points in table, and to hit a blot late in the game. This technique is more complex than others to play in Backgammon because it requires careful movement of your chips and how the pieces are moved is partly the outcome of the dice roll.
