The aim of a Backgammon match is to shift your pieces around the Backgammon board and pull those pieces off the game board faster than your challenger who works just as hard to achieve the same buthowever they move in the opposite direction. Succeeding in a game in Backgammon requires both tactics and fortune. Just how far you can move your pieces is left to the numbers from rolling a pair of dice, and the way you move your checkers are decided on by your overall playing techniques. Enthusiasts use different plans in the different parts of a match based on your positions and opponent's.

The Running Game Plan

The goal of the Running Game tactic is to bring all your pieces into your inside board and bear them off as fast as you could. This strategy concentrates on the pace of advancing your pieces with absolutely no efforts to hit or block your opponent's pieces. The ideal scenario to employ this tactic is when you believe you can shift your own checkers quicker than your opponent does: when 1) you have a fewer checkers on the game board; 2) all your checkers have moved beyond your competitor's chips; or 3) the opponent doesn't use the hitting or blocking tactic.

The Blocking Game Tactic

The main goal of the blocking tactic, by its title, is to stop your opponent's checkers, temporarily, while not fretting about moving your checkers quickly. As soon as you've created the barrier for the opponent's movement with a few pieces, you can shift your other checkers quickly from the game board. The player will need to also have an apparent strategy when to withdraw and move the pieces that you employed for the blockade. The game gets intriguing when your opposition utilizes the same blocking tactic.
