As we dicussed in the previous article, Backgammon is a game of skill and good luck. The aim is to shift your chips safely around the board to your inner board and at the same time your opponent moves their checkers toward their inside board in the opposing direction. With competing player pieces moving in opposite directions there is bound to be conflict and the need for specific techniques at particular instances. Here are the two final Backgammon techniques to finish off your game.

The Priming Game Plan

If the goal of the blocking tactic is to hamper the opponents ability to shift her pieces, the Priming Game plan is to completely stop any activity of the opponent by creating a prime - ideally 6 points in a row. The competitor's chips will either get bumped, or result a bad position if he/she at all attempts to leave the wall. The trap of the prime can be setup anyplace between point 2 and point eleven in your game board. Once you've successfully built the prime to stop the movement of the competitor, your competitor doesn't even get a chance to toss the dice, that means you shift your chips and toss the dice again. You will be a winner for sure.

The Back Game Strategy

The aims of the Back Game technique and the Blocking Game plan are very similar - to harm your opponent's positions in hope to better your chances of winning, however the Back Game plan utilizes different tactics to achieve that. The Back Game strategy is commonly employed when you're far behind your competitor. To compete in Backgammon with this strategy, you have to control two or more points in table, and to hit a blot late in the game. This plan is more challenging than others to play in Backgammon because it needs careful movement of your checkers and how the checkers are moved is partly the result of the dice toss.
